Social Media Hiatus

For my social media class, I have to try and go social media free for 24 hours. That means no Facebook, no Instagram, no Twitter, no texting, NOTHING! This is going to be extremely difficult for me, given the fact that I am either sitting at a computer or have my iPhone right beside me at all times. I've chosen to complete my 24 hour removal from the social media world this Saturday. I'm hoping that I can keep myself busy enough not to notice that I haven't checked my ESPN app for football scores, or opened Instagram looking for visuals of my friends latest weekend adventures. I have a feeling that this assignment will make me realize just how dependent I am on social media. It helps me stay connected to not only my friends, but my family as well; my brother and sister who live in different states, and my mom, who lives on the other side of the world. I highly doubt anything THAT interesting will happen this Saturday during my 24 hour time frame, but you never know. This has just been the introduction to my social media hiatus assignment, but I will check back on Sunday morning and include all the details of my struggle, or lack thereof.
